Boo Boo Hugs

Hey Everyone!  Our new Clear It Out challenge starts tomorrow.  Our sponsor this time is the amazingly talented MelJen's Designs.  The winner will receive 4 digital images of their choice.  You can pick up this cutie named "Little Girl Bear Hugs" at MelJen's Designs HERE.

My poor little darling has a boo-boo (notice the bandaid on her leg).....but she doesn't look sad at all cuz she's hugging her sweet little teddie bear & giving him oodles of love. I've colored them both using my trustie Copics (listed below).  The background papers are another NitWits collection.  I just love their digital graphics.

I recently got a 'Scrabble' alpha rubber stamp set from Whimsy Stamps.  They were having a huge sale & this girl just can't pass up a good craft sale.  :)  I love this set!  It was such a good price!  It came with all 26 letters of the alphabet.  LOL  Imagine that!  That's 26 stamps for one low price. Well actually you get 2 extra...one with a heart & a blank so that's 28 stamps.  I just love a good deal.  I try not to pay full price for anything.........especially craft items.  Anywho..........just wanted to share with my friends.............back to the challenge..............

Our challenge at CIO this time is "Use an image of a Child or Children".  The Stash requirement is everyone's FAVorite "Anything Goes".........just tell us what you've used.  My stash item is the pretty flower I've layered.  Actually the pearl button on top is from my stash too.  I'm so glad that CIO helps me clear out that huge mountain of craft supplies I've hoarded bought.  LOL

I used this great sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

My Blessing

Yippee Skippee!  I got my new car yesterday & here it is sitting in my garage.  Well it's new to me & as you can see it's been well maintained.  We bought it from the lady who runs my hubby's subcontrator's office.  We know her very well & were so very blessed when she decided to sell her car.  It's a year newer than ours (the one that got "totalled") & still looks brand spankin' new.

Check out the inside.  They even put seat covers on when they first bought it so we're the first ones to use the seats. LOL  The gave us a ton of paperwork on the maintainance.   As you can tell.......they took very good care of it.  They're so pleased that it's going to someone who will love it & take care of it like they did.

God is so good & we feel so very blessed.  Thank You Lord!!!

Just wanted to share my good news with my blogging buddies.  I hope to finish my next card by tomorrow evening.  We were gone all day yesterday taking care of the car business so no crafting time for me.   See you soon & thanks for visiting.

Challenge time at CIO

Hey everyone!  Yes it's that time again for a new challenge at Clear It Out!  The theme this time is SYMPATHY and because we're all about helping you use up what you already have.......the Stash requirement is to USE UP YOUR DARK PAPERS.  I'm working on my card & will show it to you soon.

Our sponsor this time is Digi Darla Designs.  The winner of this challenge will receive 5 digis of their choice. Remember to follow the challenge details in order to be eligible for the prize.

I've been really busy trying to get everything going on replacing my car & helping hubby work with the insurance company.   We're buying a car from a coworker of my hubby's who has a 2006 Camry that has been taken care of so well & is actually in better condition than my '05 Camry that was wrecked.  PTL  I'm so excited.  It looks brand spankin' new!   I'll share a little pic when I get it........hopefully in the next day or two. WooHoo!  It's a beautiful sparkly dark charcoal gray versus my white one so that's a bit different & the inside is exactly the same.......just darker.  Can't wait!

Anywho................back to the challenge.  Come on over to Clear It Out & join us.  You have two weeks to show us your Sympathy cards using your dark papers.  Easy Peasy, right.  It's always nice to have those Sympathy cards on hand.  Unfortunately you just never know when you might need one.

I'll be back in a few days to share my card.

Happy Labor Day weekend!

I'd like to wish all of my fellow Americans a Happy Labor Day weekend!!!  I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our troops for working so hard to keep our nation free.  I'm not really as tough as Rosie the Riveter in the picture above but I'd like to think so.......LOL.

Most of us probably don't know much about the history of Labor Day so I looked it up in Wikipedia & this is partially what it said...........

Labor Day is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.

Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events.

You can read more HERE if you'd like to learn more about it's history.  I thought it was interesting.

Have a wonderful day with your family & friends.  We're pulling out of a tough week ourselves.  Through no fault of his own my hubby 'totalled' our one & only car last week (he sold his truck last spring to help with our finances).  This car was my "baby".  It was a 2005 Camry that I bought brand spankin' new.  I only put 40,000 miles on it. BooHoo!  Okay.......nuff crying.  LOL  It's not really my "baby"....in the grand scheme of things it's only a car for heaven's sake......but I did have a moment (well really more of a day) of sadness (after the torturous waiting to see if it was repairable or a total loss).  But then.........I just had to "get over it" & move on.  Thank the Lord for insurance.  Now to find a good replacement.  Look how sad my poor car looks.  :[  (I blocked out the license # just in case you're wondering what the black mark on the license plate is...lol)

Anywho...........on to bigger & better things.  I know our blessing is right around the corner.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) NKJV

Thanks so much for joining me today.

You're such a Pansy

Did that get your attention?  hahaha  I couldn't resist since this card has pansies all over it.  This is my second card for the Clear It Out challenge blog.  We are in the midst of our current challenge where we want to see what inspires you in your creation.  This can be anything or anyone who inspires you.  Just tell us what or who it is.  The "stash" item we would like to see is "something glittery".  Easy Peasy....right.

My card features the adorable 'Ava Flower Patch'.  You can find her here at Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  Ava is one of my very favorite Bugaboo characters.  Must be her long hair.  I've had long hair as 'long' as I can remember.  (pun intended......LOL)

Here is my inspiration picture.  I know you were probably expecting a picture of pansies but I just couldn't resist these scrumptious cupcakes.

The randomly selected winner of our challenge will receive.............

Bugaboo has so many cute digis to choose from.  So hurry on over to Clear It Out and show us your inspiration.  You have one more week to enter.

While designing my card I found this cute sketch from The Sweetest Thing which gave me a chance to use my Whimsy pennant dies.  This was my first time using one of their Sweet Sunday Sketches & I must say I'll be using their sketches again & again.  You can go here to see all of their sketches in one place.

Clear It Out ~ DT card

This is my very first Design Team card for Clear It Out challenges. Yippee Skippee! (If you didn't hear the news about my new DT position then you can read all about it here.)

We were challenged to make a card using our own inspiration (a photo, person, colour palette, etc).  And since Clear It Out is all about helping us use up our craft stash we're asking that you use "something glittery".  Finding something glittery in my stash was not a problem at all since I'm a hoarder  uh I mean collector of all things glittery.  LOL  I've used that cute little birdie sitting on the fence.  He's a part of some K&Co. grand adhesions that I've had forever and a day.  Sound familiar?  LOL
I chose the picture below for my inspiration. I found it while googling "color inspiration boards".  I thought the colors were so pretty & fresh. I originally hadn't planned on using the grass, sky & fence for my card.  That just happened as I was designing the card.  Sort of a  "happy accident" I guess you could call it.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I used the adorable digital image called "Ava and Deacon Love Word".  You can find it HERE.  Bugaboo is offering the randomly chosen winner of the challenge 7 free Bugaboo digis.  How cool is that!
This Anniversary card is for a special couple but I can't tell you who it's for yet until after they have received it.  Sssshhhhh.......mum's the word.  ('course if you live across the pond 'mum' has a totally different meaning.  LOL)

You'll notice that I've made another little stick pin & used an envelope punch that I've had a long time.  I made a little note for the happy couple with a Nestie die & added a little ribbon 'pull' so they can see their names below the "Happy Anniversary" (no fair peeking.......I hid it pretty well.....lol).

So please head on over to the Clear It Out challenge blog & use your own inspiration to create a card.  And don't forget to add 'something glittery' from your craft stash.   If you're like me you have a TON of glittery things to choose from.

Challenges I would like to enter:

      Clear It Out challenge time

It's time for another challenge at the Clear It Out Challenge blog.  Our Challenge theme this week is ONE FOR THE BOYS ~ make a "manly" card. In addition we would like you to add a Stash item of "2 or more patterned papers".  I know we all have tons & tons of patterned paper in our crafting stash just lying around waiting to be used.  My crafting philosophy is that you can never have too much paper.  LOL  Right!?!  After all........it's the base where we begin our creating.  I usually choose my patterned paper before starting my project.  How about you?

Our sponsor this time is Dude Time Doodles. The randomly chosen winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend at the Dude Time Doodles store.

So pop on over to Clear It Out and check out what the DT has made and we'll help you clear out your stash.

      Clear It Out news

See my new badge?  Well..........let me tell you about it.  I really missed being on a Design Team & missed the little "push" I need sometimes to get crafting & creating.  (To be honest sometimes I need a BIG push.  LOL)  As I was linking up my Christmas tag to some challenges last week I noticed the Clear It Out DT call so I submitted some cards & crossed my fingers, toes & eyes.  (Of course first I said a little prayer cuz I always want the Lord involved in my decisions.)  Sooooo lo & behold I got an email from Laura inviting me to join their DT.  Of course I said YES & YAY & Yippee Skippee!  LOL

I've already met the super nice ladies & have been chatting with Laura........who is the sweetest, nicest person......& I can't wait to get started creating.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Clear It Out Challenge Blog.  There is a new challenge every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month.  There will be a new Theme each challenge but we also want to help you clear out that stash.  So a stash item will be included along with the theme.  We all have tons of stash items just laying around waiting to be used.  Almost as if they're saying....."hey......pick me, pick me.....I'm over here.....don't walk away.....pick me"........LOL

You still have time to enter our "Christmas in July" challenge with the Stash item being "something red or green or both" so pop on over to the Clear It Out Challenge Blog. You have a chance to win 5 digis of your choice from our sponsor Digi Darla Designs. Our DT will also choose the Top 3 entries.  We look forward to seeing your creations.

Thanks so much for sharing in my excitement!

Christmas in July, part 6 of 6

Hi again!  Since this is the last day of July I thought I'd better bring my CIJ sharings to an end.  Can you believe that tomorrow is August 1st?  Oh my word.........where has this year gone?  Won't be long before it's Christmas in December.  I really need to get started on my Christmas cards.  Anywho..................last by not least..................

This is a sweet little tag I made for my swap partner Mary.  I used an image that I snagged from the internet.  I just love this vintage little girl.  She has the sweetest.....most innocent looking face.  I used embellies from my stash, seam binding & DP from Bo Bunny.  I then distressed all the edges with Distress Ink 'frayed burlap'.

This is the back of the tag.  See...........I told you that I always sign my name with a little 'heart' at the end♥. LOL

I also made a little cross stitch picture for our CIJ swap hostess, Cyndi & made the same tag for her.  (ooopsie....I forgot to take a picture of it so I snagged the one she shared on our board.)

Well......this is the end of my CIJ ramblings.  LOL  Thanks for bearing with me & I hope you've enjoyed looking.  We were all so excited about our gifts that we decided to draw names right away for our 2013 CIJ swap partners.  LOL  Now we have a whole year to make things & get some great Christmas deals this December. Christmas in July, part 5

Hi again!  Since I didn't make anything in this post........GASP!  LOL.......I thought I would share it along with the birdie cross stitch in my previous post.

This is a decorative box that I got from Hobby Lobby.  Obviously I didn't make the box. LOL  I just wanted to share what I did with it.  My swap partner Mary does amazing beadwork.  She loves "shiny" beads & buttons so I thought I would fill this box with both.   (It nearly drove her young daughter crazy when she shook the big box I packed everything in & she heard the RATTLE.  LOL)  These beads & buttons came from my huge stash that I dearly love.  Some are vintage & close to my heart.  I also included some brand new shiny beads that I thought she might have fun playing with & put them in a pretty little gauze bag.

I added a little "Love" sign & told her to look for the "Love" inside.  LOL (I found out later that she loves boxes.......I had no idea.)

Here are some additional items I put in her large box.

Yummy Cinnamon Nutmeg Pot Pourri with a metal Star bell attached.

Avon Santa, Snowman, Penguin & (hiding) Reindeer lip balm.

and some little sparkly nail files.

Thanks for taking a peek inside the box with me today.  I'll be back tomorrow with my last CIJ "show & tell".  I promise that it's a little something that I made.  LOL

      Christmas in July, part 4

I'm baaaaack with more Christmas in July crafts to share with you.  :)  Today I wanted to share a little framed cross stitch picture I made for my swap partner Mary.

I love little birdies......especially little chubby birdies. When I saw this pattern of the three birdies chatting to one another I couldn't resist it since we chat a lot on our little message board every day. I also thought the sentiment......"Friendship is the essence of a happy life".....was so fitting. When we have meaningful friendships it truly brings happiness to our lives. Can I hear a big AMEN!  :)

The sweet little frame is from Hobby Lobby. I loved the heart blingy charm. I love hearts & always sign my name with a little heart at the end so I thought it would be fitting.

Thanks for indulging in my meanderings about CIJ. It truly is a happy time of year for those of us who share our lives on our little board. We may not be large in numbers but our hearts are large & filled with love for one another.

I have made some wonderful friends online throughout my crafting years. I count each one as precious as I do my IRL friends. How about you?

Thanks again for joining me in my CIJ celebration.  I'll be back tomorrow with another post for you.  Hope you're not getting tired of looking.  :)
