Just livin' the Dream...

This card is a bit different for me as I used a photograph that I tweaked in Photo Shop Elements.  My daughter took this picture of her toesies last summer while at the beach & I knew instantly that I wanted to use it for her birthday card this year.  She loves the beach & the sun & getting her tan on.  She is truly a southern California girl.  Her birthday was Tuesday & she's been celebrating non stop ever since.  LOL  She loved her card & couldn't get over the fact that I used her picture.  Remember her card last year?  It was her pretty picture on a Cosmopolitan magazine cover.  You can see it HERE. I had to really do a lot of thinking to top that one but I'm pretty happy with how this one came out.  The kraft paper seemed to really suit the light pink digital paper to a tee.  The pink frame was from a digi by Sapna called Fun in the Sun.  I used pink washi tape & vintage buttons tied with jute to give the corners some pop.  A pretty pink paper flower & Antique Linen Distress Ink on all the edges was the final finishing touch.

I chose to use this sentiment on her card because my daughter & I say this to each other all the time when asked how we're doing.  We say........."Just livin' the dream!" whether we're having a good day or not.  Plus I felt the sentiment was fitting for a day at the beach.  Wonder what she was dreaming about?

Thanks for joining me today & a Big Happy Birthday to my Kimmie!!!  I love my beautiful Baby Girl!!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Southern Girls Challenge:  #59 Endless Summer (anything that conveys summer)
Crafty Creations Challenges:  #200 Wise words
Digital Tuesday Challenge:  #190 Summer Lovin' (my digital elements.......focal picture & pink decorative paper)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

As stated in my previous post our Clear It Out challenge blog is having a super special challenge for the whole month of December.  I already told you about our FABulous sponsor........Krista from Saturated Canary who is offering the winner their choice of 2 of her amazingly cute images.  The other special surprise is my teamie Laura is giving a TON of prizes & goodies to those who enter (as many times as they choose) but there are certain qualifications in order to win.  The rest of the details can be found at Clear It Out.

Our theme for the December challenge is CHRISTMAS using any stash item of your choice in your paper creation.  If you don't celebrate Christmas then we ask that you please use the colors RED, WHITE and/or GREEN in your project.  As you can see......I've used ALL of the above in my DT card.  LOL

Krista so generously gave us our choice of which image we wanted to showcase.  Boy was that a tough challenge.  LOL  I love ALL of her digis!  Anywho.......since it was Christmas I chose this adorable little cutie with her cute little friend popping up out of the bag called Christmas Nutcracker.  You can find it HERE at her Saturated Canary shoppe.  The stash item I chose to use is from that big pad of Christmas paper that I used recently.  I cut the paper so that the big Christmas tree was behind my image.  I love the little snowman & angel hanging from the tree & you can see a little candy cane peeking out below my image.  It's all just too too cute!  (You can see the other deets about my card design below.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I would love to see your paper creations on the Clear It Out blog.  :)  (By the way......my card won't go "live" on the CIO blog until Tuesday Dec. 11th.)

CIO challenge continues & a sneaky peeky

We are in the midst of our "ugly sweater" challenge right now at Clear It Out challenges. We're asking you to use up those "ugly" papers that you have been ignoring all year. Our sponsor Digi Darla Designs is giving one lucky winner 5 digis of their choice. How great is that!!!  You still have one week to enter so pop on by.

I'm sooooo excited to give you a little sneaky peeky at our very special December challenge Sponsor. Can you guess who it is from the itsy bitsy teeny weeny hint I'm giving you?  LOL  I haven't given you much to go on but...................you're going to love it!!!!

Hope you didn't get injured or trampled on Black Friday!!! Did you see those grown men at Victoria Secret getting into a huge fight over women's underwear? Ridiculous!!!  LOL  They're calling it "Black Eye Friday"  (you can google the YouTube video)  We women would never ever do that........right?  LOL Cyber Monday is more my style of shopping. I've done most of my shopping online & am almost finished & it's not even December yet. YAY for me! LOL I think this is the earliest I've ever done it. YAY again! :)

Now my Christmas cards are another story. I was hoping to have tons made up by now but I only have 2.  sigh.......  I'm hoping to get lots more finished using our December sponsors adorably cute images. Have you guessed who it is yet? LOL Mum's the word! Don't give it away if you know. LOL I'll do a big reveal next week. Have a wonderfully blessed week. And I hope your Christmas shopping is almost finished too. :)

To light the way

It's challenge time at Clear It Out challenges.  Okay.......I must admit........I had a real struggle with this one.  Our theme for this challenge is "ugly sweater time". We want you to use your ugly, unused papers. Well.......I don't "do" ugly very well. It just goes against my nature.  I like pretty things........duh. LOL  But...........since I HAD to come up with something.............this is what I did.  I went through my Christmas paper pads to find one that reminded me of an ugly Christmas sweater so I came up with this reindeer.  Now reindeer aren't ugly by any means but I seem to remember seeing one on an ugly Christmas sweater.  LOL  That may be a real streeeeetch but that's my story & I'm stickin' to it.  LOL  If you look real close you'll see that my reindeer has flocking.  He must have gotten caught in a snow storm.  :)
Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Darla Designs .  The winner of our challenge will receive 5 digis of their choice.  How sweet is that!!!  This pretty image is called Cardinal on Lamp Post and it's already colored for you.  Isn't that cool!  (Sure saved me some time.)  I knew I wanted to use my Cryogen cardstock for this snowy image because of the pretty sparkles in the paper. Can you see it? (You can click on the pic to see it closer.) I got a bit carried away with the glitter & mica flakes for the snow. It really doesn't look "dirty" in person. LOL  I had a hard time getting a good picture of it plus I was fighting a migraine but you came to see some pretties not to hear about the perils of Pauline.....right?  LOL  Anywho.......you get the idea.
***And let's hear a big WOOT WOOT!!!  I'm also so very honored to be chosen as the Guest Designer on the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog.  So this card serves a dual purpose.  The Fussy and Fancy challenge is "Feeling Blue".  They want to see your blue creations.  So pop on over to see the lovely DT creations & enter their challenge.  Thank you, Fussy and Fancy & Sazzle!!!!!

To all of you celebrating Thanksgiving this coming Thursday.....Have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving with those you love & hold close to your heart!

JOY-ful

Hi Everyone!  We're in the midst of our Anything Goes challenge at Clear It Out challenges.  Plus we want to help you use up those RED supplies.  I used these red Christmas papers that I bought last year.    They were on a huge paper pad that will take me forever to use.  Unfortunately I have a lot of those unused papers that feel so neglected.  But I'm working on it.  :)

Our sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs.  This pretty girlie is called 'Reindeer Games'.  Can you see her little bells?  Well the rest of her is va va voom with long legs & more bells.  LOL  You can check her out HERE. I colored her with my Copic markers.  You can see the numbers below in my supplies list.

I had a bit of a tough time with this one cuz I got new carpeting & flooring this past week.  Remember my flood from my washer?  Well this was the big blessing we got as a result of that mishap.  But it was a lot of work packing everything up to get ready for carpet throughout my house (I felt like I was moving).  Oh my goodness.........the things we accumulate & just 'have to have'.  LOL  It convinced me that I need to start purging & getting rid of STUFF I don't really need so I've already been to the Goodwill once.  Many more trips are in my future.  LOL  But it feels good to downsize & know where everything is...........especially my craft supplies.  Most of which are still hiding in my walk-in closet.  UGH  That's why this card was difficult.  I had to search for my Christmas embellies & ribbon.  LOL  That will teach me.  Anywho........back to my card........

I used this wonderful sketch from Sketch Saturday.  They are one of my FAVorite go-to places for sketches.

Remember my flood a few weeks ago?  Well this is the week we're getting new flooring & carpeting.  WooHoo!  So exciting but TONS of work (I feel like I'm moving with all this packing I have to do) plus I've been sick with IBS.  UGH  Not fun.......at all.  Then my stooopid back keeps going out on me.  BUT...I am making a card.  LOL  Have to fit in crafting somewhere....somehow.....someway......right?  LOL

I hope you're all having a blessed week.  See you again soon.

Happy Happy

My youngest granddaughter's 17th birthday is coming up and I wanted to use one of Krista's sweet Saturated Canary girls for her birthday card.  Krista's girls are just the cutest & have so much personality...........just like my granddaughter.  (She can be a pistol.....lol)  This one is called Pack Light.  She's actually sitting cross-legged on top of her luggage but I just wanted to use her cute little face.  Her beautiful long hair is just like my Shaye's.  Just darling as can be.  Happy Birthday, Shaye!!! (btw.......YAY.......she loved her card....especially the hair......lol.....I knew she would........lol)

I've colored her with my Copics & used lots of gray DP from a new MME paper pad that I hadn't used yet.  I also used a new diecut rounded tag set from Sizzix that I got for my birthday recently. It comes with 8 dies. The larger ones look like big arches that would be perfect for main images on a card. I'll definitely be using a lot of these dies.  The sentiment came from Create with TLC.  Paulette is always so very generous with her sentiments & graphics.

I used this beautiful sketch from The Sweet Stop.  They also added a spin to the sketch challenge.........tell what movie or book inspired your card.  Well the first movie that popped into my head is one of my favorites..........."13 Going on 30".  That describes my granddaughter to a tee.  (Although she's really 17 going on 35.......hahaha)

I'd like to also enter this card in the following challenges:

Ooh la la

Ooh la la.....Paris anyone?  LOL This is my DT card for the next Clear It Out challenge which starts tomorrow.  We would love to see anything having to do with the "gift of Christmas"......however you interpret that statement.  It doesn't have to be a Christmas card.  Just something to do with a special gift or presents like I have on my card.  Use your imagination & be creative.  Now as for my card...........I'm having a PINK Christmas in Paris because my recipient is oh so "fabulous" and so very loved.  So my special gift is hidden inside the cute bag & those boxes are full of FABulous things I found while shopping in some cute Paris boutiques underneath the Eiffel Tower.  LOL  I can dream, can't I?  LOL  I even thought of hanging ornaments from the Eiffel Tower but resisted the temptation.  LOL  May have been a bit too much.........ya think?  :)

Our sponsor for this challenge is Melonheadz Illustrations.  The winner of our challenge will receive $15 to spend in Nikki's Etsy shop.  I've used the cute Paris digital set already colored for you.  Easy Peasy!  She also has a lot of cute freebies on her blog you might want to check out.

My birthday was on Saturday & I spent the day sick as a dog.  Yuck!  Not my favorite way to spend my birthday.  But my oldest granddaughter brought a movie & cake over today & we watched "Snow White & the Huntsman".  I really enjoyed it!  Even hubby watched some of it with us ('course we had to use the duct tape cuz he would not stop talking.....lol).  I have the sweetest family in the world.  I am so very blessed!

Well........back to my card.......I've used this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  Sketches make it so much easier for me to design a card.  How about you?  This was a fun one........

I need Candy!

Did that post title grab your attention? LOL We all "need" some candy every now & then.......right?  LOL   Well if you check out my card below it looks like my little Trick or Treater's pumpkin bag is empty.  aaaawwww poor thing!  That's why she's shouting "I NEED CANDY!"  LOL Somebody help the girl!  LOL

We're in the midst of our Biweekly challenge at Clear It Out Challenges.  We would love to see your creations using mostly Purple, Orange and/or Black (or all 3 like I did).  The theme is everyone's favorite "Anything Goes".   Our sponsor is once again the FABulous Bugaboo Stamps.  Jodie is so generously giving the winner of this challenge 7 free digis.  How cool is that!  This little darling Trick or Treater is called Halloween Brat Pumpkin and you can find her HERE.  I've added lots of dimension by layering the leaves, lollipop & pumpkins.  It's hard to tell from this angle.........so you'll just have to trust me.  LOL  (You can read the other deets about my card below.)

It was a wee bit of a challenge to make this card cuz if anything could go wrong or break at my house........IT DID!  LOL  Starting with my washer that overflowed into my carpeted hallway.  UGH  What a mess!  I just got my new washer last night so you know what I'm doing today..............yeppers........LAUNDRY!  But the blessing is that we're getting our whole house carpeted.  Yippee Skippee!!!  I won't go into all the other events of the week.  Let's just say it was the week from H*LL.  But the Lord helped us get through it & we're happy as clams again.  Whew!  We really don't need that kind of drama in our lives......right?  LOL

Back to my card......I've used this GREAT sketch from Sketch N Stash.  I will definitely be using this one again.
